Since I used to work as a physical therapist at a trauma center in Houston, Texas, I saw many folks be admitted after serious accidents. There was one that was rarely seen. It was "MCA vs 18 wheeler" - which means the collision was between a motorcycle and an 18-wheeler.
That was the diagnosis I saw on my 25-year-old nephew's chart on Thursday. I was visiting him at The Med in Memphis. He is a "medical miracle" - one of many that are currently at The Med.
I know my nephew, Robert, is alive today ONLY because of God's grace and protection of him during and following the accident. By all earthly wisdom, he should not have survived!
I also know the Lord is going to use this event to give Robert and all those affected ANOTHER opportunity to start or re-start their personal relationship with Jesus. When someone comes close to death, I think it makes everyone re-evaluate what is really important to them.
Please take this moment to think about what is really important in life. As the bible says, don't store up your treasures here on earth.....but store up eternal treasures. God, marriage, family, relationships. These are the really important things.
And please pray for my nephew, Robert. For his full and swift recovery and for God to use this opportunity to draw him into a personal relationship with Him!
