One of the basic teachings in the FamilyLife Weekend to Remember is that your spouse is a "gift from God". And that you need to "receive" your mate as a gift from the Lord. The Lord does NOT give bad gifts --- only good ones!
Well, I'd like to "brag" on God for this post! He have me the most awesome gift in the world -- my wife, Shawn! She is a GREAT and WONDERFUL gift from Him. Far beyond anything that I dreamed and much more than I certainly deserve!
Not only is she a beautiful woman on the outside, but she is also creative and passionate and smart! Just between the two of us, I often kid her with "dumb blonde" jokes. She may be blonde, but she is certainly NOT dumb! In many ways she is much smarter and more mature than I am!!!
So, Lord, THANK YOU for my gift of Shawn!! I will be eternally grateful for this wonderful woman you placed in my life!!
