November for Glen and Shawn means celebrating another year of God's faithfulness in our marriage relationship - November 28th to be exact. On that day, we will celebrate 17 years of marriage. It's hard to believe we have been married that long. As they say, "It seems just like yesterday....." that we were married in Houston, Texas.
We have had some very difficult times in our marriage -- especially the first 5 or 6 years as we struggled to rebuild our marriage and begin to "do marriage" God's way. But also each year as we continue to discover the inevitable challenges that all married couples face ---- finances, parenting, communication, resolving conflict, expectations......the list goes on.
The good news for us is that all the time and effort you invest in your marriage is worth it. While we do not have a perfect marriage by any means, we enjoy each others company and are more committed and "in love" than the day we married. Young love is so different than mature love - but mature love is far better. To grow in oneness each day as the "two become one". To know the joy of being committed for life to God's gift of your spouse!
So cheers to another years of marriage to my beautiful bride! May the Lord grant us many more years to grow to love Him and each other more!
See! You can still have fun and act "goofy" even after being married 17 years!!
