Sometimes you hear something that you are just sort of "half-way" listening to - but what you did hear gets your attention!! That happened to me last week on Saturday morning when Shawn and Sarah were returning from an all-night Mother-Daughter retreat at our church.
Sarah was getting out of the van with Shawn when I heard Shawn say, "And don't forget your husband." Now THAT can get a father's attention. Especially if your daughter is ONLY 11 years old!!
I must admit I was very thankful when what came out of the van was not a male of some kind but rather a pillow. For some reason, the wonderfully cushy pillow, shown in this first picture, is called a "husband". Someone said it is because you "snuggle" with it! Sarah won it during the retreat.
Sarah prefers to NOT call it a "husband", but rather call it a "pillow chair". And, as her Dad, I am OK with that. It will be too soon anyway when that big day happens. Let's not rush it please!!
This second picture is Sarah pictured with her pillow chair. She has been sleeping with it almost every night since she and Shawn returned from the retreat.
I must admit that it is very comfy to lay with. I was waiting to pray with her a few nights ago and almost fell asleep on the "pillow chair".
Maybe I should get a husband as well :)!!
