Say What??? Billboards seen recently!

Shawn and I and the kids were recently driving back from serving at a Weekend to Remember in Kansas City. I did most of the driving on the way there so had time to look at the landscape and the billboards that dotted the roadside.


Two of the billboards really caught my attention:


Sign seen at Auto dealership: "The key to happiness is in the ignition!!"


Sign seen for Realty company: "The best never rest"



While I enjoy reading billboards and seeing how "creative" folks are with advertising dollars, both of these signs just really hit me - how different the God's Word is from the wisdom of the world we live in.


God's Word says that "things" can never really bring us happiness. Joy and contentment come from a relationship with Jesus Christ.

"But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well." Matthew 6:33



God's Word also says that we need to rest. God rested from His Work on the 7th day of creation setting a pattern for us to rest as well.

"For six days, work is to be done, but the seventh day is a Sabbath of rest, holy to the LORD." Exodus 31:15a

These were great reminders to me to continue looking to the Lord and His Word for answers and advice and not from the World!
