I have a friend named Danny. He recently told the story of how he and his family do not put the baby Jesus in the manger scene until the day of Christmas. This has been a tradition in their family for many years and the kids always remember.
Well this year, things were crazier than normal in December and in the midst of Christmas morning and all the excitement, Danny forgot to take the time to put the baby Jesus in the manger scene. They opened the presents and were halfway through Christmas day when one of his kids said, “We forgot to put Jesus in the manger, Dad!”.
What a great reminder for us at Christmas – let’s not forget to put Jesus in his rightful place this Christmas. Let’s make sure we focus on the Savior and not the “stuff”. Let’s make this a different kind of Christmas that truly honors and glorifies Jesus. He is the "Reason for the Season" and the real Reason for our hope as followers of Christ!
