Response to the HISTORIC Supreme Court Ruling on Gay Marriage

As Christ-followers AND staff at FamilyLife, the Supreme Court ruling this week was a "punch to the gut" for us.  We believe that, since God created marriage, He along should be the one to define it.  Who are we, as a culture, to know better than Him.  Wherever you are in the gay marriage debate, I encourage you to listen to the FamilyLife Today Broadcast (link is below).  I also would encourage you to check out one of both of the articles links as well.  May we, as Christ-followers, be real salt and light in our country as it moves more and more away from God and Biblical truth.

Below is a brief word from  Dennis Rainey related to the FamilyLife Today broadcast that aired on Thursday June 27:

In light of the unprecedented legal decisions made today, tomorrow's normal FamilyLife Today broadcast will be preempted. Bob Lepine and I will be discussing FamilyLife's response to the Supreme Court's ruling regarding the redefinition of marriage.  What does it mean? How did this happen? How should we process this loss, and where was God in this defeat?

We may start with anger, but we must move beyond anger and sadness and back to a full confidence in the truth of the Gospel. Even though "truth has stumbled in the streets", we must not lose heart, even in the face of the loss of this skirmish. God's victory over sin and death through Jesus Christ will never be invalidated by any court of man.

Isaiah 59:15 reminds us, "Truth is lacking, and he who departs from evil makes himself a prey". Listen tomorrow as we look at this decision through the lens of God's Word.

I’d also like to ask you to pray that this message be used for good, and not for evil.

Thanks for fighting in the battle,
Dennis
