Then and Now: 9 years in Little Rock!!

There is a saying that goes "Time flies when you are having fun."  Well, my version of that might just be, "Time flies!!"  I'm sure many of you can agree with that statement!

Our family was sitting around the dinner table last night and the kids were remembering some trips we had taken as a family in the past few years.  They remembered many things -- from trips to the beach to trips to "the lake house" to trips to children's museums...so many memories.  Many of them I did not recall - neither did Shawn.  Was great to sit around and remember!



What I did remember in all that was our move to Arkansas in July of 2003.  It is hard to believe it has been 9 years since we moved here to serve with FamilyLife.  Honestly, there has been some great times in our time here AND some really tough stuff as well.  But through it all, we are so glad we followed Gods' call to serve and to uproot our family to come to Arkansas.  It has been the "great adventure" that He planned for us and we know He has still has much more to show and teach us!

As I look back at these two pictures, I am amazed at home much our kids have grown physically. There were 6, 5, and 3 when we moved here. How "small" they look in the 2003 picture above. Shawn is as beautiful as ever and me, well, I'm just me!

In all this, I have one OVERWHELMING thought - THANK YOU LORD!!  Thanks for our family.  Thanks for my beautiful wife.  Thanks for your great grace and mercy in our lives as well as your generous provision for these 9 years.  You ARE indeed a Great and Mighty God!!
