Happy New Year!! Shawn and I and the kids hope you will experience a GREAT NEW YEAR in 2011! We firmly believe that God has great plans for all of us for this New Year. Our role is simply to cooperate and obey Him so that He can give us the abundant life He promised us as followers of Christ!
That does NOT mean there will not be challenges in 2011. But when those challenges come, we can rest in the fact that the Lord God knows our situation and is working for our good AND His glory!!
Found some fun as well as some thought-provoking quotes about the New Year. Enjoy!!
"Now there are more overweight people in America than average-weight people. So overweight people are now average … which means, you have met your New Year's resolution." – Jay Leno
We will open the book. Its pages are blank. We are going to put words on them ourselves. The book is called Opportunity and its first chapter is New Year's Day. ~Edith Lovejoy Pierce
"Be always at war with your vices, at peace with your neighbors, and let each new year find you a better man." – Benjamin Franklin
Many years ago I resolved never to bother with New Year's resolutions, and I've stuck with it ever since. ~Dave Beard
"The object of a New Year is not that we should have a new year. … Unless a man starts on the strange assumption that he has never existed before, it is quite certain that he will never exist afterwards. Unless a man be born again, he shall by no means enter into the Kingdom of Heaven." – G. K. Chesterton
Tomorrow is the most important thing in life. Comes into us at midnight very clean. It's perfect when it arrives and it puts itself in our hands. It hopes we've learned something from yesterday. - John Wayne
Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could; some blunders and absurdities have crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day; you shall begin it serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense. - Ralph Waldo Emerson
