Our Lead Pastor, Bill Elliff, at the Summit Church in North Little Rock, Arkansas, told a great story of his life growing up. It was so good I wanted to share it. Hope it helps you get a good laugh today... We all need to laugh!! But it also helps us to think about our kids. It is part of our roles as parents to teach them how to love their siblings in their actions and their attitudes!!
Being the youngest of 4 kids, things happened to me. Like my brothers digging a "Bill-sized" pit when I was about six years old, covering it with weeds, and standing on the other side of it inviting me to come join them so I would fall in up to my shoulders!
Or, my oldest brother swapping me my dimes for his nickels because "the nickels are bigger and they're better." Or, my brothers telling me when I was headed into the room to get a spanking from my parents that if you "laugh it won't hurt as bad." I didn't get over that one for about 2 weeks!
And then there was the time when we were playing hide-and-seek and they all just forgot about me. I was huddled in some closet, thinking what a clever kid I was, and they had already gone on to another game. I mattered so little that I was forgotten!
