Our son, Caleb, and I had the chance last weekend to visit a beautiful place here in Arkansas called Petit Jean State Park. There are miles and miles of hiking trails at this park which runs right along the Arkansas River. God has indeed created a place that "declares the glory of God" to all who see it!
It was a warm day but we went about mid-morning so it was not as hot as it got later that afternoon. We hiked what is called the Cedar Falls trail. It goes for about 2 1/2 miles for the round trip with the "highlight" being Cedar Falls, a 95-foot high waterfall that one of the highest in Arkansas!
Unfortunately, because of the little rainfall we have had this year, the fall was but a "trickle" - but it was still beautiful. I promised Caleb we would have to go back after we had a good deal of rain so we could see the falls in all their glory!
If you get to Arkansas, be sure to check out Petit Jean State Park. It's about an hour from Little Rock! Check it out at: http://www.petitjeanstatepark.com/
